Stop Getting Triggered. Learn the Difference Between Emotion and Feeling.
Emotions are chemical cascades in our bodies. You feel love and oxytocin is released, someone pushes your buttons and cortisol is released etc. once the chemical enters the blood stream there is nothing to do but wait for it to dissipate. This is also why people think they fall out of love because anything we are exposed to over and over again our cells get used to and the chemical won't be as easily triggered and when that happens people say the spark has gone. This is just one example why it is so important to learn how to read the information of an emotion as a frequency or feeling so as to avoid being controlled throughout your life by fleeting chemical reactions. The other example I often give is that you will also be triggered negatively MUCH less using this method. Feelings are a frequency. Another analogy that fits is that emotions are like hertz waves or music, you strum a guitar and the sound dissipates over time then disappears. as apposed to quantum waves that go on forever, that is feelings, always there and available to you all you need to do is attune to them, nothing needs to be triggered or stummed to reach them. This also helps with addiction as we can get addicted to dopamine and then do repetitive behaviors to keep feeling that chemical coarse through us. For some this is alcohol, drugs, sex or scrolling on the internet. We can move outside this looping cycle by attuning to the frequency instead.
